Welcome to Temple Israel of Scranton

We are an Egalitarian and Progressive Jewish congregation in Scranton, Pennsylvania, serving the Pocono and Endless Mountan regions of Northeastern Pennsylvania, including Wyoming, Susquehanna, Sullivan, Bradford, Pike, Wayne, the North Pocono area of Monroe County, as well as our own Lackawanna County. We are a member congregation of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. Temple Israel is a sanctuary for prayer and inspiration, a vibrant center for life-long Jewish learning, and a congregational home for the living Torah. We are a source of strength and a force for good in progressive Judaism, the greater community of Northeastern Pennsylvania, and the world
